Once you are ready for learning flute. One thing you require is a good quality well-tuned flute. In general, we always try to buy a low-cost flute from a local vendor or non-professionals. In my opinion, this is the wrong move. The flute is an acoustic instrument and crafted manually by hand. Selection of bamboo quality, thickness, diameter, size, and seasoning plays a major role in sound production. Majority of people relies on the art of listening and ear training. Therefore, I always prefer to buy a good quality professional flute from a good, experienced and recommended flute makers. Now, the next question comes in our mind is that flutes are of different size and diameter. Which one we should select as a beginner? Is there any age demarcation for using the scale of the flute? To answer this question, I would say, Yes. Flutes are of different length. Some of them very smaller and some of them are very long in length. Hence, based on the handgrip size and comfort level we should select flute wisely. However, several other criteria are accounted for. For example, smaller flutes require more blowing air pressure that makes our blowing stronger as well they are more comfortable to any age group. They grip the flute easily and practice multiple alankars and paltas very easily. This brings confidence in the flute player.

My recommendation for buying a flute as follows:

My request to all buying if you are planning to buy a flute always buy a good quality of flute because it is a one-time investment. Once you have bought it will remain with you for a longer time.
